Lincoln Aviator: Supplemental Climate Control / Removal and Installation - Cabin Heater Coolant Diverter Valve

Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

  1. Drain the cooling system.
    Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding (303-03A Engine Cooling - 3.0L EcoBoost, General Procedures).
  1. Remove the LH headlamp assembly.
    Refer to: Headlamp Assembly (417-01 Exterior Lighting, Removal and Installation).
  1. NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.


    1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
    1. Clamp the coolant hoses, release and disconnect the coolant hoses.
      Use the General Equipment: Fluid Container
      Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp(s)
      Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer
    1. Remove the retainers and the cabin heater coolant diverter valve.
      Torque: 177 lb.in (20 Nm)

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. Fill and bleed the cooling system.
    Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding (303-03A Engine Cooling - 3.0L EcoBoost, General Procedures).
