Lincoln Aviator: Supplemental Climate Control / Removal and Installation - Rear Heater Core Shutoff Valve (RHSOV)

Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

  1. Drain the cooling system.
    Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding (303-03A Engine Cooling - 3.0L EcoBoost, General Procedures).
  1. Release the clamps and position aside the coolant lines.
    Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp(s)
    Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer
    • Disconnect the electrical connector.
    • Remove the retainer and the RHSOV.
      Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. Fill and bleed the cooling system.
    Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding (303-03A Engine Cooling - 3.0L EcoBoost, General Procedures).
