Lincoln Aviator: Transfer Case / General Procedures - Transfer Case Fluid Level Check

Activation

  1. Refer to: Health and Safety Precautions (100-00 General Information, Description and Operation).
  1. NOTE: Make sure that the vehicle is standing on a level surface.

    Refer to: Jacking and Lifting (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).
  1. Check the component for leaks.
  1. Transfer case Fluid Level Check should only be carried out if an oil leak was identified.
  1. NOTICE: Only use the specified lubricant.

    NOTE: The transfer case should be in in-vehicle position.

    Remove the filler plug and seal and add the specified amount and type of oil through the filler plug hole until the level reaches the bottom of the filler plug hole X: 0.25 inch.
