Removal

NOTE: LH (left-hand) side shown, RH (right-hand) side similar.

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

  1. Remove the rear door window regulator and motor.
    Refer to: Rear Door Window Regulator and Motor (501-11 Glass, Frames and Mechanisms, Removal and Installation).
  1. NOTE: Rear door shown transparent for clarity.


    Remove the aft rear door glass run and bracket.
    1. Remove the bolts from the aft rear door glass run and bracket.
      Torque: 93 lb.in (10.5 Nm)
    1. Remove the aft rear door glass run and bracket.
  1. NOTE: Rear door shown transparent for clarity.

    Disconnect the exterior rear door handle electrical connector and position the wiring harness aside.
  1. Remove the exterior rear door handle reinforcement adhesive tape covers.
  1. NOTE: Rear door shown transparent for clarity.


    Remove the exterior rear door handle and the exterior rear door handle reinforcement.
    1. Remove the exterior rear door handle reinforcement nuts.
      Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)
    1. Remove the exterior rear door handle reinforcement nut.
    1. Remove the exterior rear door handle.
  1. Remove the exterior rear door handle gaskets.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. Carry out the power door window initialization.
    Refer to: Power Door Window Initialization (501-11 Glass, Frames and Mechanisms, General Procedures).

    At a Door

    Electronic door handles are on each door. Gently depress the switch inside the exterior door handle to unlock and open the door. An unlock symbol illuminates on the door window trim indicating your vehicle is unlocked.
