Removal
NOTE:
Driver seat shown, passenger seat similar.

Remove the front seat.
Refer to: Front Seat (501-10A Front Seats, Removal and Installation).

Remove the front seat backrest panel.
Refer to: Front Seat Backrest Panel (501-10A Front Seats, Removal and Installation).

Remove the front seat backrest blower motor.
Refer to: Front Seat Backrest Blower Motor (501-10A Front Seats, Removal and Installation).

Disconnect the front seat backrest heater mat electrical connector.
-
NOTE:
After disconnecting the hose and lock
assemblies, verify the black O-ring and white spacer remains with each
hose.
NOTE:
When connecting the hose and lock assemblies, an audible click must be heard for correct installation.
Release the locking tab and disconnect the hose and lock assembly from the SCMG.

On both sides.
Detach the front seat backrest assembly from the backrest module retainers.
Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover

On both sides.
Detach the front seat backrest assembly from the backrest module retainers.

Position the upper portion of the front seat backrest down.

Remove the front seat backrest cover assembly.
-
Detach the front seat backrest assembly from the backrest module retainers.
Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover

On both sides, position the front backrest assembly to release the retainers.

Slide the front seat backrest cover assembly up to release the retainers.

NOTE:
This step is only necessary when installing a new component or front seat backrest side bolster.
Detach the front seat backrest carrier from the vent bag.

Release the tabs.
-
Detach the front seat backrest carrier from the vent bag.

NOTE:
This step is only necessary when installing a new component or front seat backrest side bolster.
Detach the front seat backrest cover J-clips.

NOTE:
This step is only necessary when installing a new component or front seat backrest side bolster.
Release the front seat backrest cover tabs.

NOTE:
This step is only necessary when installing a new component or front seat backrest side bolster.
Release the hook-and-arrows and remove the front seat backrest cover carrier.

NOTICE:
Use care when separating the backrest cover from the
hook-and-loop strips or the hook-and-loop strips may be torn from the
backrest foam.
NOTE:
This step is only necessary when installing a new component.
Remove the front seat backrest cover.

Invert the front seat backrest cover.
-
Release the hook-and-loop strips.
Installation
-
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
